This week I spent two days in Leeds at the School for Social Entrepreneurs. This year long programme helps people who are setting up social enterprises by offering loads of advice, access to expert speakers, a network of support AND a (very much needed) grant to help with start up costs. It is this programme that has enabled me to develop mindbodyfeeling. I have been in the programme since October and today I have finally started to write a business plan (I think we covered it in session one!). To say I have had a mental block on the business side of things is definitely an understatement and I suppose I have been a little stuck in a mindset of seeing mindfulness and a successful business as incompatible. When I applied for the programme I pitched my dream to deliver mindfulness to all, and that I didn’t want affordability to be a barrier. I still have this vision but am definitely more educated in the ways that I need to go about making this a reality. I may be a bit slower than some in moving forward but as we know life isn’t about who wins the race …………
Walk Slowly- Danna Faulds
It only takes a reminder to breathe, a moment to be still, and just like that, something in me settles, softens, makes space for imperfection.
The harsh voice of judgment drops to a whisper and I remember again that life isn’t a relay race; that we will all cross the finish line; that waking up to life is what we were born for.
As many times as I forget, catch myself charging forward without even knowing where I’m going, that many times I can make the choice
to stop, to breathe, and be, and walk slowly into the mystery.
